I was just about to say the same Dave.

I had a guy on the phone Tuesday morning (7-00am)complaining that a 'match angler' fishing from a silly pleasure/match peg (only described so because it wont take a bivvy) had dragged his line. As the 'match angler was fishing the same bank but over 60 yards away he must have been using one hell of a pole.

This idiot had evencontacted the Citizen Advice people asking how he could get his club fees refunded because he is sick of people fishing over his lines.

Afraid I was not very sympathetic and told him to $ugger off.

Nothing against 'specimen hunters'/specialist anglers, its the $loody idiots like this guy who get me annoyed. Probably never fished for anything but carp in his life.

Guys - this may go against what some of you are saying in response to Ron's question but is it really ok to have alcohol of any kind when in/on/nearwater? Doesn't it seriously affect your ability to respond correctly if you should get into difficulty? I've seen some anglers have a coupleof cans when fishing, finish up then drive away. They must have been close to the limit, but to some it would be hard to say which was the more dangerous thing to do.
