I can assure you Kevin that I am not the only reader.

Infact, whilst working on FM, I noticed that within an hour of publishing one of your articles, 450 people had read it.

It might actually be 4 readers Jeff, as I thnk Mr Marzdinn scans it for any possibly litigious content before it gets published.......

Fred

Might not be anything next week as I am on holiday, but watch out for the launch of a new range of clothing from a company you all know and love..............

A good and interesting read Kevin.

I remember my brother doing some sea fishing when we went on holiday to Mablethorpe. I was 9 at the time and he was 11.

I rember him using 2 spark plugs for weights and some how he incorporated a disgorger as a boom. Never caught anything, not even sunburn.

I remember going sea fishing once off a pier. I was using a closed facedreel and an equally undergunned rod!

Caught nothing!

Myself and a chum I'd met on holiday bought a couple of those handlines and went fishing a few times off the end of Clacton pier in 1963.

Now in all honesty, we didn't go expecting to catch an 18lbs cod, nor a 6lbs dogfish, nor a 3lbs lemon sole and guess what .......

everything went just as we expected!

Yep, we blanked too.

Great read Kev, in 1989 I moved to Plymouth and was sure I was going to empty the oceans, with my superior match fishing expertise. I soon realised that the professional netsmen were doing a much better job of it than I ever could.

Kevin.

Whenever I read your little missives on the exquisite agonies of angling, and the art of blanking....(that's blanking for you hard of hearing)..... I often get this weird feeling that you and I have led parallel lives.

Of course I soon remember I am much older than you, therefore I did it first.

Thus, a certain nostalgic sadness that inevitably leads to......................

.........Would you please get a life of your own!!

As per usual a very entertaining and light hearted read Kevin. Just the thing needed to brigthen up a bog awful day, cold and wet and I have to go out and work this evening.

Long time, off of site. Lifes twists and turns etc.

Good to see your still at it Kevin, and my sea fishing results are as good as yours.
