Hi Nicky, after many years, the rubber membram starts to pill off, so thats why it is not waterproof, so you have been sold a very old one, plus if it is a prober MOD one, it should have a instruction list in the corner saying it is MOD with a long part number

Yea i checked it has a patch quoting a nato issue number something or other so i believe its real.
Any the supplier has apologised for the poncho i recieved and offered a replacement that has been thouroghly checked and to cover the postage to return it so fingers crossed

I was starting to think i was expecting too much for it to be really waterproof as it is like bivvy material and even though that may not drip it does usually get wet to the touch inside

Get your self a British Army Gortex suit, I paid £45 for mine, which includes Salopettes, 100% water proof! I've even sat in a puddle on my chair and not even damp, superb kit!

Just received a replacement poncho and i tested it under the tap and it appears to be 100% waterproof :)
