hi all im really tempted to go fishing sunday on the river trent...with all the rain we have had do you think it would be a waste of time

Not a waste of time, I'd travel light, trying a few different swimsand use big smelly baits and you should find a few chub or barbel.

Get out there and give it a try, see no reason why you wouldn't catch.
