Just the one this evening at 5lb 6oz.

Thankfully, the six from yesterday got the kind of photo that it deserved.

The man behind the lens also got a couple of cracking action shots.

I'm not sure what the relevance of "Greetings, pop pickers" is.

Had another try for the tench on the big pit in town today.
The SW wind was fierce and cold, straight in my face.
Braved it for 2 hours but I got so cold I left my gear with another angler and nipped home for a jacket.

The water ski club was busy today which, along with the wind, stirred the water up a bit. The maximum depth being just 3-4’ all over this huge pit.

Had 5 bites and 3 fish, all bream. Including this one which I christened Quasimodo...

This was the 3rd and biggest at 8:2:0

All taken on method feeder with gb and 4 maggots..

Just out of curiosity, if you don’t mind me asking of course, what size hook were these taken on? I had bite after bite from bream on size 16 hook/ 5mm washters but when I went up to a size 10 after losing too many carp I never got a break bite again. I’d say the carp had moved in but I had 3 bream in between 3 carp so they were both feeding there while on the 16

My little girl and me braved the fierce wind in search of some fishing action earlier today.
Stayed local and hit the duck pond close to home. I've been chatting to a bloke who fishes it all the time, he's been pulling some really decent tench out, float fishing sweet corn. I had collected a pint of red n white maggots and a bag of crushed hemp yesterday from a great local tackle shop that's doing phone orders. A tin of Green Giant and a few slices of Warburtons completed our bait for the day. Emily was on the 3m whip, I was on 11ft Diawa float rod, 3lb line and 18 barbless.
The hemp and bread remained untouched, maggots loose fed and on the hook were all that worked all day. We caught dozens of fish, tiny Bream, Perch and Roach all day. Could not get past the small fish, 4 maggots bunched on the hook, shot moved down to get it to the bottom....tiny fish! Bread or corn? Ignored!

Emily was the only one who needed the net all day, a couple of nice Roach from close in.

I had a couple of Perch that were verging on respectable size, but finger sized Bream and Roach nearly every chuck for me!

The Gosling's are fattening up nicely, unlike my fish today.

Our mission to catch from all the Liverpool Park lakes is up and running.
