Thought I'd announce to my angling chums the arrival of my son.
He was born 27 October weighing 7lb 14oz
His name is Zander Ziegler.
We are very happy.

Well done Dougal, good size that too.
Shame about the colour of the weighing net though . . . . . . . . . .
Scholars have long known that fishing eventually turns men into philosophers.
Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to buy decent tackle on a philosopher's salary. ~

Congratulations Dougal (and to the other party involved - who will try to convince you she did all the hard work - this is not true...my wife doesn't have the scar I have - why did she bite me?)
Brilliant, enjoy. He is every other inch a gentleman.

Did you zero the scales before weighing?
