thanks philip, i used to target eels regularly from quite a young age, learning from the old boys on the bank who were catching for the plate, until rod n line fishing for them was banned here a few years ago , but the odd days piking turns up an eel or 2 at times:wh , what??? no guv im fishing for pike, not eels ind with the eel fishery and weir/dam on my back door kinda hard not to learn at least a little, especially as my dad worked on/in the weir/dam, giving me more than the usual access to all the behind the scene's info
