Well didn't turn out to bad here, the gales that were promised this afternoon never arrived, bit of wind and rain but nothing to worry about, seems the worst of it was south of here,

I think that's right - we've had quite a battering here in Liverpool, but talking to our HQ just outside Carnforth, it's been nothing more than a little bit gusty. We got up early-ish to take the dogs out around 07:00 as (according to BBC) the winds weren't due to pick up 'til about 10:00... obviously we got drenched & completely sand-blasted along the front

Very difficult to walk in a straight line up in the Chilterns............

Just seen the latest forecast on TV and they are saying the wind should peter out over central UK late evening, but still be quite strong down the eastern side of the country overnight. They also say temperature will drop to around 4 degrees (London) and to freezing in some parts of the midlands tomorrow morning, with ice expected on roads. Possibly milder over the weekend by all accounts..............

Changeable next week and colder in the south.

As someone famous once said " Let's be careful out there"

Not too bad here (SE), wind blowing hard but not as strong as predicted. Sea flattened as it is coming off shore but lowish neap tides so shouldn't be a problem. Might be good for a bit of beach combing tomorrow and/or fishing. Cod virtually non existent but maybe a flattie or two. Find some interesting stuff some times if you wade through the cans and bottles like this. looks a bit prehistoric but its a Pipe Fish I believe.

Not to bad  don't know whereabouts you are in the southeast but here in Gravesend it was blowing a complete hoolie with well over 50 mph gusts, the wind was coming straight down the Thames with wavelets buffing up all along the promonard, had a job in literally trying to stand up in it

It was bin emptying day today, and although not as windy as we expected it caused havoc once they'd been emptied. :eek:mg:

A blustery week drawing to a close here in Berlin. Normally we get your weather 24-36hrs later but I think this time we've been saved the storms.

And after a cold and icy start to the year, it's finally thawed and we've got milder wet weather forecast next week. Perfect for the first carp outing next weekend hopefully!
