Default World's strongest knots?

That's the claim, anyroad. Got to confess I haven't attempted any of them so far.

The Bimini Twist is regarded by big game anglers (marlin etc) as a very strong knot that retains 100% line strength I have tried to tie it but failed each time I tried, my lad can tie it and it is a strong knot.

Alan Knott was a very strong wicket keeper and probably the best in the World.

I had to do a double take - thought the thread was entitled "World's strongest knob"

I prefer a 5 turn grinner - my Daiwa Sensor always breaks first so it must be strong

my best knot for my main line is the trilene [clinch] knot, but i tie my own version.
i go six up and four back down and then through the doubled loop.
wet with saliva and pull the tag und down to tighten.

for hooklength to swivel i still use a palomar knot

I can manage those knots with a large sea hook and thick mono but 4lb mono to a size 18 in a gale is something else entirely

The one good thing about age is the knowledge of ones limitations

im only using the modified trilene knot to tie my 12-15lb mainline to a swivel [if barbel fishing] or to a metre length of leadcore [if carp fishing] so not too fiddly to use.

I use the 5 turn grinner knot (named after Dick Walkers son 'Grinner'); It hasn't let me down so far.
