Morning Mike,

Incidentally mate have a little search about on Google and look for a few fly fishing specialist shops etc around yer area,

They often do a whole range of different types and sizes of zingers etc,

I go up into London for anything like this,

When I'm trotting on the tidal Thames I use a large very strong retractor and clips up onto the D ring of me wading jacket, I then use one if the FARLOWS wooden fine mesh trout spoon nets which clips to the retractor and simply hangs on me back, it's then very easy for me to reach me net for when netting roach and dace etc, couldn't use a normal net because the tide would take it :eek:mg:........:D

The shop that I go to is FARLOWS of Pall Mall, London, near Trafalgar Square :D

It's a extremely plush shop and only specilises in fly and lure fishing,

Have a look at the FARLOWS website

I rarely lose anything but last Thursday I inadvertently flicked my scissors off my table with a spool of line.
Yesterday I came very close to losing my three metre whip as I was unhooking a small roach, I had it under my right arm then it was sliding into the water. Fortunately I still had the hook in my fingers or it would definitely had gone, this happened another twice.

I use these drennan disgorgers...

DRENNAN SPECIMEN DISGORGERS FOR LARGER HOOKS QTY 10 Our Ref: 820

DRENNAN MATCH DISGORGERS FOR SMALLER HOOKS QTY 10 Our Ref: 821 | eBay

At about six notes for 10 of each size it's not the end of the world if you do loose one. I have zingers but can't stand them dangling about on my top, and having the pressure of the string pulling back on the disgorger when i'm unhooking a fish. I just have the disgorger in my pocket, in my maggot box, behind my ear etc.

Can't see running out of them anytime soon !

Got a hook tyer and that has a large discourager on other end and it's bright florescent green , so shouldn't miss that .

I was say I have a loop tyer ( not sure if correct spelling ) not a hook that has a large discourager on the end . Can't loose that hopefully as its luminous green .

I have a bit of a habit loosing discouragers .

Fantastic shop Stuart and almost as impressive as Binka's garage ! Do not go there with Tigger as it will cost you an arm and a leg:rolleyes:

Mmm........could possibly be the other way around Mike, I'd be trying to get Ian ( tigger ) into the bass lure game, none of these pound shop spinners :eek:mg:

Must be £25-30 quality bass lures :D.....lols

I like the split ring on that, no danger of that springing open unlike my Hardy clasp.

In fact I'm going to have a look at mine tomorrow to see if I can replace my clasp with a split ring from a key ring

I used to lose endless pairs of scissors until I started to keep 'em on my zinger a few years ago, I think the only pair I've lost since were when I lost the whole zinger which gave me the confidence to invest in a decent pair of Owners and they're always there in the right place when I need 'em.

There
As serial looser of bits of tackle I now make the point of avoiding the purchase of any item green or dark coloured. They are made that way so you lose them in the grass.
If there are no alternatives I wrap a bit of bright electricians tape round it.

Yes I quite agree that another pound shop be an alternative but if one wants an honest opinion I'd seriously steer clear of getting one from here, I can lay money that they will not last 5 minutes,

For an example what are most of there tools like .........c##p :eek:mg:

Most of the stuff they sell is branded - quite a few of us have had bargains from One Pound Fishing Tackle. :)

After just looking at yer link I've now just realised that this is completely different from the normal pound shop chains that we see around our local town, I at first thought that this is what you meant.

To be honest yes yer right there are some well known brands on there and seems to be ok although I'd perhaps be a little jubious on the overall quality of the zinger
