I thought it was the purely the carp arm of drennan, isn't drennan itself specimen and match? Items such as Drennan Tench rod would suggest specimen.

NGT braid scissors are just as good and half the price.

True. I bought a pair after losing my Nash braid blades and they're just as good. The best braid scissors I own aren't angling-related at all. Stork pattern embroidery scissors from Boyes stores are designed for cutting woven thread and do a better job of it than any of the tackle trade's offerings. They hold a sharp edge for far longer, too.

You can get multipacks of scissors from the pound shop which are perfectly good for angling tasks, especially when you think you can just go and get another set out of the packet when one set nack's up. I've never understood why people have to get scissors because they have an angling companies name on them and are prepared to pay crazy prices for them!
I've found cheap nail clippers to be be better than scissors for a lot of cutting tasks.
