    I don't have the foggiest if they do or not.

    What I don't know is that if they cause you to bleed through raker rash or teeth, it takes bloody ages to stop bleeding!

    I thought it had more to do with the fact that your fingers are basically wet and because your out fishing probably covered in wet slime as well they dont really get properly dry for it to coagulate.

    The other point being that as your unhooking your hands are usuaully dangling down near the ground so blood is running to them so it always makes even a little cut pour with blood. Hold your hand above your head and it bleeds less.

    If you dry your fingers well enough they usually stop bleeding.
