I will respectfully decline to answer the question as one of my ex wives may be viewing this thread.
I respectfully decline to answer the question as my current wife may just happen to read this and it could put me on the steps of a very official looking building.........Again! :)

A little bird told that if all the float rods owned by Sam and Tigger were laid end to end they would circumnavigate the globe ; twice!:wh

Yes but how many have been used since Christmas?

Ironically I acquired two rods on Friday that had sat unused in someone's loft for the best part of 50 years and I ought to have a go with the barely-used Edgar Sealey Contestant before too long. I set eyes on this rod circa 1970 when the owner, long since dead, showed it to me. It's a lightweight 12ft float rod with glass ferrules and came with a near mint Mitchell 304.

Lol Mike, I think Chris's would do that on their own!

I think my float rods layed together may make about 185ft ....what a po.e that could be lol.

I thought I had a lot, but that seems not to be the case!

15 accy ultra
15/17 carbonactive
13 carbonactive

harrison 2.75 accurix
harrison 1.75 torrix
diawa long distance feeder
drennan avon/quiver
sigma wand

nash spod/marker

this covers all the fishing I do, or am ever likely to do and all get used at least a few times per season. Do I hanker after more? not really but looking at the reviews for the 17 ft accy, maybe time to retire/flog the 15/17 carbonactive?

In the regularly used camp I have:-
3 x Century NG
3 x Greys 3lb Deadbait
2 x Greys 2.25 Deadbait
2 x 9ft lure rods
1 x Greys Spod
1 x 14ft Accolyte

In the rarely used camp I have:-
1 x Greys Marker
2 x greys 1.5lb Barbel
2 x JW Avon

In the almost never used camp:-
3 x Greys 2.75 Prodigy
2 x Daiwa 1.75 Carp
2 x Float rods
2 x 3lb Carp Rods

Note nil poles. Maybe one or two other rods, that cannot remember but would definitely fall into the last category.

I see I am definitely still an amateur  I have my eye on a float rod on eBay ATM.... 13ft, spliced tip, low line ratings...ticks all the boxes so I'm currently trying to talk myself out of it as the point recently has been to downsize somewhat....

Since discovering the joys of ready sleeves - or tip tops - I've found that certain rods end up being left set up ready for a quick get away, which generally fits the pattern of most of my fishing.

13' daiwa aqualite waggler - set up for Stillwater/ wagller fishing
13' Shakespeare mach3 waggler - set up for trotting/ centrepin (ironic, given its name. The fish don't seem to mind)
11' Drennan series seven carp feeder - set up for chub/feeder fishing (again, it's a good job they can't read!)
12' greys prodigy barbel - set up as a barbel/ heavy feeder rod with quivertip (broke the avon and couldn't get a replacement)
12' Daiwa black widow specialist - set up as a barbel/ heavy feeder rod with avon top

Then there's the travel series.... generally holiday use only, though often the rods I give the kids when I take them

10' 3 piece grandeslam carbo pellet waggler
12' JW Youngs 5 piece travel barbel
13' Shakespeare agility 4 piece match rod
10' Shakespeare telescopic spinning rod
5' NGT telescopic

Then there's the frankensteins from history, rods that just don't see the light of day as once they did

2 x 12' Shakespeare valour 3 piece carp rods (actually, these have been pressed in to some service recently off mumbles pier!)
14' shimano catana heavy float rod. Bit of a beast
11' Silstar pellet waggler/ feeder combo - bit of an anomaly for a combo rod in as much as it does both functions terribly!

Then there's a new area of interest for the last couple of years:

7' ABU Vendetta 5g-15g 3 piece
6'9'' Shakespeare Agility LRF

Is there a priest to hear all of this confessional?

Since starting in the late 1970s

8 float rods that I have owned and then discarded or sold:
Shakespeare strike 13ft (rapidly converted to a lead rod)
Shaky match international 12ft
ABU counterstrike 12
Shakespeare president super match 13
Leeda blue diamond 15,6
MAP Dave Harrell 18/20
2x MAP ultra II 15

6 Float Rods from the 80s that I used for two decades but are now retired
2x DAM quickstick 12 ft
4x TRi-cast aristocrat 13ft (3 spliced, one hollow tip)

5 Float rods that i’ve tried but probably won’t use any more
2x Shakespeare excelsior 13 ft
Shakespeare Mach 3 power
2x Shaky Mach 3 lite 13ft

Which leaves 7 that I will still use regularly
1 Alan Brown canal rod 12Ft (same blank as the Image rod)
2x Cadence 13 ft no. 2
2x Shaky LXL 12ft/16ft
2x Shaky LXL 13/17

That looks like I only own 18 float rods .... :wh
