Has anyone had any experience with the clutch on this model? And being that it's a proper bearing reel now, how would it fair being used for trotting for chub and barbel?

My only experience is with an old daiwa 125m which I wouldn't use for anything other silver fish, just wondering if the new Abu is a bit more versatile?

Thanks.

I have one but have not trotted with it! Had carp to 8lb or so and the ubiquitous bream! I love this reel for float fishing for silvers. I cannot really comment on the drag as I haven't had any serious big or hard fighting fish but once I had set it it worked fine!

Brilliant little reels for trotting. I use mine when the winds too strong to use my centerpin. Had 5lb Chub and a 13.5lb Barbel

Good to know it'll handle decent sized fish.

Thanks guys

I have 6lb as the heaviest at the moment. It comes with 3 spare spools most shallow!
