Rumaging in my float box - first stillwater outing tomorrow - I noticed that many of my crystal waggler type floats are bent, like a banana!

Both long and short stemmed varieties, what causes this is it heat? They haven't been damaged, has anyone else noticed it?
I expect they will still function, but most unpleasing to the eye, I expect a quill to be bent but not these :(

I have had the same thing with crystal float bending and I think it is down to heat I now keep my floats in a wooden float box with the slotted foam rather than a float tube.

Last year I had a similar problem with a tube that feeder tip are stored in, I left it on the bank in direct sunlight … it bent like you say a banana

Had a bent float, got used to the way it sat in the water. It moved round when a fish started to bite. So before the float was starting to move as normal. I got pre warning.
Pity was I lost the thing.

Nothing to lose so I'll give it a go. I can't fish with a bent float, I simply can't :eek:mg:
