Tench fishing help on feeder?

Im currently targeting tench on a local resevoir with a hybrid feeder with 2mm micros and blended boilie crumb with a pellet hookbait.ive read its best to fish cage feeders groundbait and worms but i just bring in the bream doing so.is there anything else i can try as the hybrid method bring alot of big carpin and very little tench?
Not that im complaining about the carp as i did land a pb of 23lb on my korum 2 piece quiver on 8lb line and many others over 15lb but only 1 tench at 5lb 3oz any help much appreciated?

How deep is the venue ? you could try adding casters to your cage feeder mix, either whole or chopped up
with your worms,

Only had Tench to mid nine lb but I,d try chopped worm in a big open ended feeder plugged with dark brown groundbait and liquidised sweetcorn coupled up with an air injected lobworm with its tail end nipped off.

At that depth it could be possible you would lose most of your feed off the hybrid on its way down,
a cage/mesh feeder or even try a window feeder, would be the best options,and if you go down the injected lobworm
route, be careful you don't inject yourself, or try a few dendrabenas cut both ends so it looks like Medusa<
another bait even if you have chopped worm in the feeder, is a big bunch of maggots,

Make some homemade 14mm uncoloured peppermint flavoured boilies - tench love peppermint. Use the peppermint flavour from supermarkets.

Flightliner has already recommended lobworms (spot on), try also dendras or redworms and put up with the bream for the tench.

Another possible hookbait option would be hair-rigging a bunch of maggots, popped up off a piece of artificial corn. It's a clever rig where you first tie on a small hook on to the end of your hooklength, then thread that through one side of a piece of artificial corn... then you tie a knotless knot on to the actual hook you'll be using. Once completed, you can put three or four maggots on to the small hook, bury the point of that in the artificial corn and because the corn is buoyant it will then rise (so you'll need a counterweight just below the hook in usual pop-up style). Probably best to have a look on youtube!

However, just one other comment I would make... I know loads of lakes where there always used to be a decent head of tench... then the controlling club gradually starts to add more carp, and the tench seemingly quite quickly decline. The only lakes I can think of near me where I know there's tench thriving alongside a head of carp is where there's a large head of tench (average sort of size, say between 3 and 8 pounds) and a much lower density of proper specimen sized carp. I think for a long time that was a slightly more typical ("natural"?) stock density, however as soon as more carp go in, the tench seem to disappear.

I think the best advice is watch dai gribbles korum vids on YouTube. He keeps things very simple and it works very well...he's just won the drennan cup again.

I've just got back from 3 days tench fishing at linear, pretty much everything I do I've taken from him. I had 14 tench to 9lb 6oz and 3 carp to 29lb. All on maggot feeder and fake maggots. Could'nt get much simpler.

Dai was up there guiding in the peg opposite and it was good to chat to perhaps the best specialist angler in the country at the moment.

Hemp - add hemp to your mix. You catch more tench over hemp than bream.

My preferred set up for Tench is a helicopter rig with a cage feeder. I then mount a fake maggot up the hook shank (google mag alinger) on a larger hook, two nicked on the bend. This prevents the majority of the silvers ruining your sport and leaves a “bait” should they pluck it clean. I use a ground air mix of hemp, maggot and red robin.
I don’t fish for Tench heavily, targeting specimens but I do catch tench with this method.
