Having written recently about my enthusiasm to get back on the bank now the heatwave is losing its grip, I was encouraged even more this past Sunday.

My regular fishing mate Gus, called in that evening after a long day of driving around the Fens checking out several venues we had been discussing over the last few weeks. His purpose was to establish which of the waters would be accessable to me, due to bankside vegitation and short access etc.

He was anxious to relate to me that three of our favoured venues may prove to be possitively dangerous for me with my limited mobility. To say I was moved by his efforts and consideration would be an understatement given that he is no spring chicken himself. Hardly surprising that our friendship has lasted almost fifty years, I feel bound to pay him this tribute, I can say no more than the title suggests.
