Seen one or two of these i the tackle shops doing 60, 70 or even 100 gram.
I appreciate they are for distance casting or use in fast currents but would they also not serve as a way of delivering a sizeable bait portion on closer swims?

anyone try them and how did they go?

I use them a fair bit on rivers but as a running rig with the semi-fixed stop replaced by a bead and a swivel but there are better ways of delivering higher quantities of feed, such as a bait dropper on rivers or balling in on closer lake swims.

But yes...

You could mould a sizeable bait portion onto one in the mix, there's plenty of room for one.

cheers I thought it a cunning way to get a load of feed in quickly where groundbait is only allowed either by feeder or pole cup.

I often use them close in. They put a large chunk of feed in to attract the fish and still have enough weight for a bolt rig especially for a sleeper rod down the edge when one is float fishing. They work!

All the best
