I fish the Trent around shardlow aria for roach & chub with float or feeder

I want to lay a bait trail or feed bait, maggot, small pellet, hemp, a catapult is ok if it’s not too windy or for a shorter distance

My question is what would be best a mini spomb or spod or am I going to waste money buying one for the type of fishing I do

Thanks

Chris,I prefer a mini spod to a spomb,I didn't find the mini spomb opened reliably when clipped up,I normally put a thinnish layer of dampened micro pellets gently squeezed to stop anything falling out on the cast, whether it's usable in your fishing on the Trent is only known after you try it,depths and flow need to be allowed for so you know where to place your hookbait.

Agree a baitdropper is best for short distances especially on flowing water. But if it was a hard choice then spomb every time.
