I have a twin-top Avon - Shimano Technium Specialist - and I notice there was a review of this and the lighter Technium Quiver in FM in January 2001. I can bring up the features for that month, but only the first couple of paragraphs of the review appear, and it starts with the rod I'm not interested in......

Am I doing something wrong, do you think? Or is there some reason why the truncated version appears? I'll survive without the article, but I like these old Shimano's and I'm curious to see what the reviewer used it for and the evaluation it got.

A lot of stuff was lost, text and many photographs, when the system was converted for the new platform when the present owner bought the site. I don't know why this happened, but it was sad because there was a lot of good reference material on the old system written by anglers well experienced.

Thanks for that Jeff. Years before I was a member who posted, I used to look in at the tackle reviews - it's always interesting to hear from someone who has owned and used an item, as opposed to uncritically reproducing the manufacturer's blurb, and FM reviews were worth reading.
