A reservoir I fished yesterday appears to have gone suddenly very clear. When I've fished it in the past I haven't noticed it being that crystal clear, yesterday was the first day I fished on it when there has been very little wind but it was so noticeably different in the shallows near the bank that I think there was change since I last visited

Could a large reservoir go noticeably clearer in the space of a few days?

I didn't have a sniff of a bite yesterday which isn't that much of a surprise on there, I'm assuming its not very helpful for the fishing? It did seem to make it easier for the birds to feed up on my ground bait unfortunately

It is most certainly not good for the fishing,I would advise dark groundbaits and fish with a good ripple on the water, preferably in overcast conditions, the windier the better...

When I kept records for many years including watercolour, it was generally poorer fishing in clear water. However, the two species affected least by it were Tench and Crucians.
