Oil does not diffuse in water.

Water is denser than oil so oil floats on top of water.

Wont some of it go up the fishes "nose" though anyway and that means they can smell it - Just asking the question I have no strong view one way or the other

So,where do these oils go to,why don't we have slicks like the torrey canyon,especially on waters like the water where catfish anglers chuck loads of oil soaked halibut in,every day,don't though,it dispersed quickly,even without a ripple.
