This old film clip on yootube was a chuckle on a rainy sunday afternoon....

The comment 'Is that a Nash bivvy?' had me laughing!:)

It looks like Chris Yates picking up that “ prize rod” at the end!

Reminds me when I watched a 100-year celebration of Pathe News, one shortened episode from every ten years, apart from fashions and technology nothing had changed, each one was a report of inflation, wars, unemployment etc etc. Sad really how we have never learned how to rid ourselves of it all.
Still, nice video reminds of fishing with my dad, no brollies, I had to be a man and stand in the freezing rain in a hand me down duffle coat with no buttons, what joy. How pampered we all are now! But, thank god for it, I wouldn't wish all that all old rollocks on anyone today.

That’s a CDAA club water and the video features on their website, always smile when saying or hearing “Plucks Gutter”

I love the white poodle perched on one angler's knee while he's sat fishing :)

I enjoyed that film, reminds me of fishing when I was a kid with my dad. Tackle was so much simpler!

Ditto. I kept expecting to see Harry Enfield and chums:rolleyes:

I had a maggot tin like that , a whicker basket , 3 floats and some hooks and shot. The reel was always attached to the rod and the 3 pieces tied with string or rubber bands. Fishing was simple then.

Has a school boy I fished Plucks Gutter and Grove Ferry on club trips around the time this was filmed. It was always packed out with coach trip parties of anglers on a Sunday. The tackle is what I used, we never did catch much but the social side was good.

Nice clip. Puts me in mind of my early match fishing days. Wicker basket, cane rod, flat cap and 10 fags. Pete
