This may be a case of ask a silly question get a silly answer.
But while im hunting for new float rod (drennan float master)
Is there any reason as to why i cant float fish using my feeder rod?
The float rod is much better suited to casting small floats tgen feeder but as i will be just catching minnows and perch ( on said minnows)
I wont have to caat futher then a rod lenght out. I expect that i would need to play them lighter then i would on a float rod too.

The simple answer is yes, you use any rod for what ever you want to use it for.
Tackle manufacturers want you to believe you need all sorts of rods for this and that, you don’t.

I suppose the eyes on the quiver part of a feeder rod are tiny and may restrict casting a smaller weight ..... the rod maybe a lot stiffer too you may not be able to use lighter lines...... but yes ultimately you could use a feeder rod to float fish with .....

Definitely.
My favourite float rod for big fish on small rivers has long been a Normark 13' Multitip with the heaviest tip in.
Lovely action for playing chub and barbel
Back in the days before specialist carp waggler rods started appearing quite a few of the regulars at GV and elsewhere used them for that as well.

Although of course you’ve got until at least 16th of June to source a float rod ....
