I've got a John Wilson avon, the 5 piece travel version which was handy, especially if i went anywhere by pushbike.

It seems that the last time I used it the part of the butt grip that screws down to hold the reel in place disappeared. Unlike other rods there's no eye on the most buttward section so I imagine it somehow fell off when I detackled.

I tried contacting Rovex to no avail but I'm wondering now if most rods use a standard thread for these parts and a generic replacement would work.

Any help appreciated.

If it were a Fuji (or direct clone) reel seat, you'd have little problem in buying the correct ID Fuji forend piece and a cork/Duplon forend and simply screwing it on. Unfortunately, there's no guarantee that will be the case with alternate brands and styles of reel seat.

Thanks. Might be best for me to wait for the tackle shops to re-open so I can try before I buy.
