Has anyone ever tried using a manual coffee grinder for grinding bone dry bread into bread crumb?

I'm thinking of buying one off ebay to try but i dont want an electric one if i get one more motor conk out i will crack up

Should work well if its manual. Speed = heat which makes the crumb doughy and clump up. I know what you mean about food processor motors, binned 2 last year.

How about an old record turntable, (multiple speeds),with coarse sand paper applied, set on 45 degree angle, bracket to hold dried bread, with bin under. Thought of while reading post.

I've just bought a meat grinder off of ebay £8 including p&p going to see how that goes.
