If you could only have one rod and reel what would they be?

If the Fishing Police knocked at the door and took away everything you have bar one rod and one reel, what would you choose to keep?

My H-design Sulis 11ft 1½lb travel barbel rod that I can hide in my car in case they came back for that last one and my Shimano 5000B GTE reel.

But I'd take a few of them first with that catana!

My Drennan MKIV Tench Float rod and my Okuma Sheffield centrepin (which as well as Tench can also be utilised for trotting for Barbel, Carp, Chub and even Silvers).

Fox Barbel special + Mitchell 310 Quartz pro..... for fishing.

For sentiment and the weight of memories attached the Bruce and Walker CTM13A my parents gave me as a complete surprise on my 14th birthday. Same reel ;)

Been giving this a lot of thought and finally decided:

Rod, 13' Carbotec No 2 Float rod as it can handle anything from small Dace up to large Barbel and mid-sized Carp/Pike etc.

Reel, Shimano Stradic 3000, again although a bit big for the smaller species perfect for Chub, Barbel etc.

That said, and to parphrase dear old Charlton Heston:

If you want my rods then you'll have to pry them from my cold dead hands!

My Fox 1.5lb Barbel Specialist and my Cardinal C4 reel. I suppose any 1.25lb to 1.5lb TC rod would do the business as the complete all rounder.
Sean, you mean to say you dont rate the 1.75lbs that everyone raves about, you will have the barbel police after you:eek:,especially if your not using 15lb line:D.
