Having just formed the RMC Specimen Hunters Group which is open to all RMC members the response has been fantastic. Our first fishin was last weekend on Frimley pit4 after the bream and tench.Even though we had a freezing cold North easterly all weekend we managed to land four bream with three doubles.
Next on the list is a session after Mullet in Christchurch Habour, even though I think a couple of Big Carp Anglers may well be fishing with boilies for some thing Else.
Scope for a get together between the two groups me thinks Stuart.

Neil,
Sounds like your fishin was a great succsess, i have to say after 20 or so years of fishing with a very small group of friends (or alone) that these socials are a great leveler and great fun!
Looking at the list of RMC waters i think you are on for a few good un's!!! (not to happy about the stillwater barbel mind!but we will see)
If you and your crew ever fancy inviting one or two from SWAG.....i have curry refrences!!!!

We are not just using RMC venues, there are plans for some Tope fishing, trout fishing and beach casting.BBQ's along with talks as well.I'm looking forward to going Grayling fishing this winter and most of all learning to fish big chub type floats on the faster rivers for Chub and Barbel.
I've got so disallousioned with main stream carp fishing that this has given me a new lease of life and the Bream at frimley could occupy alot of my time this summer.

Brummie, I am going to search through the archives and see if there is actually a thread in which you have contributed that has stayed above gutter level! Might be a fruitless search methinks.

Hey Neil, what a two leg specimen challenge match between SWAG and the RMC group? I haven't mailed any of our group yet, so this is just a suggestion mail. What about it?

Changing the subject a little, is there anyone interested in forming a Burbot Study Group?

Obviously not. The main qualification for membership is proof positive of catching a British burbot in excess of 5 lbs. I thought that shouldn't be a problem.

....in excess of 5 pounds?! I would have thought catching one at all would be an achivement in itself.

Are we going to see lines of Burbot anglers bivvied up on the river Cam I wonder ?

Good idea Stuart I'll put something up on our Board on the RMC site and see what responce I get.
Some thing on the lines of the old Golden Maggot race ie the most species in 24 hours or some thing else.
We could also try to get some sponsors for a charity.
