Not sure how or where your fishing but it sounds like a carp water and feeder fishing.......

So sorry to take so long to respond, as that helped massively. Your post took me on a week long trawl of YouTube videos as there was a fair bit I didn’t understand! I haven’t been out again as yet, but hoping to next weekend. I’ll let you know how I get on with my new found knowledge!
