Chub, bream or barbel will be the target fish Paul. But if they don't show it could end up a battle of the bits.
The sun has come out now and so have the gardeners on the other bank.
I feel like packing up. I was fishing pole across to a garden and a bloke came and stood right over my float and said "you should come and fish this side"
I have about 2lb of perch and gudgeon in the net, half an hour to go I need a miracle....
I did Paul, I fished a stick for half the match but to no avail....

The winner today had 16 chub( biggest 6lb 15oz) and a barbel. All on the pole which the barbel broke in three sections..He was fishing just above a tree which has fallen across the river..
His total weight was 62lb.
His father had a barbel of 14lb 1oz which also broke his pole but he landed it safely...
Such is the nature of this stretch of the Colne, that to reach the better fish the pole is the only option, you simply couldn't cast a line into the overhanging branches etc.
I came 2nd in my section with 2lb 9oz of perch and gudgeon...
Paul, you or anyone else are very welcome to join me as a guest for a day.
PM me...
Ps. I have 2 poles.....

You don't have to Simon, you just ship your bait and rod and line end tackle out with the pole to these areas:
