Has anyone heard the rumour that Des Shipp was barred from fishing his local tackle shops (fish n field Chipping Sodbury)Christmas match. Fish n Field is owned by Veals,and the co-owner John Salisbury allegedly barred Des.
The reason behind it is unclear,but possibly John was afraid of either fewer people turning up because of Des's pedigree,or he was afraid Des would ''clean up'.
Well Des has to my knowledge fished local matches,and not entered the pools,so as to give others a chance of picking up the coin.
So where does this end,do organisers of ''local'' events ban all successful anglers, in case they win, hardly the right spirit,especially at christmas.
