Feeder rod rests

Whats the best feeder rest out there?Ive narrowed it down to Prestons Dutch rest and Mavers precision rest.

Thanks lads,but I shouldve been a bit more specific,its for long range feeder fishing on the Shannon,vast Irish Loughs etc.

If you want height maybe look at a beach tripod they are stable and you can geat at least an extra 2feet in the air will keep plenty of line out of the water and you can have 2 rods on the go :wh

This is great for Method feeder fishing and I would imagine it's okay for rivers and general feeder fishing too. Only small, but cheap and effective.

This is similar to the ones that I use but mine are that old now that the names have long since rubbed-off.

I prefer these particularly on commercial venues where the bites can be quite savage and the sliding mechanism gives you a second or so longer to react.

Does the range you're fishing really mean you need a specific rod rest ???

A rod rest is a rod rest, i use one like Paul suggested, or one of the Preston ones like this.
