Sunday 22nd February
There was a large turnout of 27 today for this match and the fish responded for once. The water temperature has been rising all week (5.9)
and with more daylight hours the fish were looking for food. Lots of carp, a few tench and some nice skimmers up to about 2 1/2lb were caught with a few coming out on the pole. Sweetcorn still seems to be the most consistent bait on the pole or the lead.
1st Alex Bones, Shimano and Bait-Tech, caught carp on corn fishing a lead
and switching between the teabag and the cone from peg 7 Alex weighed 57lb 13oz
2nd Dave Trautner, Stowmarket, fished a straight lead from peg 31 for
an all carp catch of 51lb 10oz
3rd Stu Mill, Suffolk Water Park, fished the cone and the tea bag with corn from peg 28 to weigh 48lb 6oz
4th Gary Hollick, Tackle Up Felixstowe, fished a pellet feeder and corn from peg peg 6 and weighed 47lb 4oz
5th Les Cook, Castaway Felixstowe, on peg 8 fished the cone and pelleted luncheon meat from peg 8 for 31lb 1oz
6th Lance Barton, Birds Tackle, fished a feeder and corn from peg 5 for 28lb 4oz
The next open match is a silvers only match on M1 next Saturday 28th Feb
