Could anyone tell me if the shakespeare mach 2 gt specimen rod is anygood for barbel fishing
Any info would be much appreciated

Do you mean xt? If so can't see why not.

That rods a 2lb test & a bit too beefy [for barbel] for my liking but that's just me. Depends on what rivers you are fishing and how heavy a payload you'll be casting. Decent value though and it will certainly do the job as will the lighter [barbel] version.
