Hi I recently purchase have fishing lot at auction and could do with help identifying a rod. On the bag it says b James and son, on the rod which is a 2 piece fly rod I think, it says james 'loch' #7-8. The rod is red with a cork handle and I'm told its a split cane but I'm not sure how u tell and I can't seem to locate a b James rod with loch on it it measures approx 12ft 8" thanks.

The only Jimmy Bruce fly rods I’ve heard of are The Chew, The Esmond Drury, & the Kennet Perfection Fly Rod (I'm more familiar with his coarse rods) , although he did produce some variations for the boat show and other exhibitions. Have you got a photo you can stick on showing the logo/writing?
PS Depending of the year his rods had B James & Son Ealing or London inscribed.
