River churnet and caldon canal

Hi all new member (today)
Any advise please
My in laws brought me membership to the Potteries Angling Society( presumably so we visit more often!)
I'm planning on travelling up and fishing either or both of the above during my visit ( fishing on Friday/ Sat this week)
Planning on fishing around the black lion pub and was going to try jigging and/ or drop shotting.
Any suggestion or tips much appreciated

I have had big Perch along this stretch. Try free-lined worm if you have no success on the jig.
