Hello, just seen I should introduce myself. well my name is Paul and I've been fishing since mid 1950s, still to be found in the undergrowth under a silly hat clutching a mkiv and pin staring at a bit of coloured quill...

Hi Paul,
Welcome to FM. Just to reassure you - nowt wrong with wearing a silly hat - as long as you're well hidden in the undergrowth! ;):):D

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum.
I very rarely use one of my split cane MKIV's these days but I still wear an old hat and often use one of my centrepins with more modern rods. LOL
