The theme for this month's Photo Competition is:

'Fishing Still life'

and here's an example to give you an idea.

Still life photography gives you an opportunity to be creative, so get that imagination going and see what you can come up with!

Don't forget, it may not be the best technical photo that wins but just one that catches the eye and catches the vote!

To enter go here and click on the 'upload Photos' link.

The competition ends at midnight on the last day of November 2009.

Voting will then be enabled for one week and then a winner declared.

The monthly prize is a £50 voucher from Game Fishing Supplies (They sell coarse fishing gear) with the 12 winning entries going forward to a competition for a £500 voucher.

The Rules

Good luck!

What's up? No imagination, can't think of anything to photograph that fits the theme?

Never mind, the six entries from the three members who've had a go stand a good chance of winning!

And wow, 10 of you have bothered to vote in the October Photo Competition!

Is there anyway people can just upload a photo for the the comp? Maybe it's having to resize them that's putting them off.

Click "Gallery" at the top of the page, and, then click on "November Competition" and you should be able to view the pictures and vote on them as well, you can also upload your own pictures if you would like to.

A still life pic is a concept, not an actuality

You've visited that Tate Modern again haven't you Graham!!

Don't you remember last time that happened. Nurse Cratchit had to get out the sedative as you were convinced that Ed's head was coming out of his arm and both his eyes were on his left knee. Mind you Uncle Dave made a killing selling his unmade bed complete with Spider's sock!

Reminders

November Photo Competition Theme: Fishing Still Life

"Still life photography is the depiction of inanimate subject matter, most typically a small grouping of objects that are either human-made or "natural". Still life photography, more so than other types of photography, such as landscape or portraiture, gives the photographer more leeway in the arrangement of design elements within a composition."

Okay, so my example had some lively maggots in it, but it gives you some idea.

To repeat an earlier post:

Still life photography gives you an opportunity to be creative, so get that imagination going and see what you can come up with!

Don't forget, it may not be the best technical photo that wins but just one that catches the eye and catches the vote!

Hi Stealth,

Thanks for the info.

Loved your November comp photos but I've been checking the Competition Rules for my own benefit, and noticed this bit. According to Mr. Marsbar...

'This competition is open to FishingMagic members only and photos must be fishing related.'

For the record though... the tomato's my favourite!

Thought I'd better point this out mate, to avoid disappointment :)
