I managed to get finished decorating and cleaned up around 4pm today. Not enough time to fish, but I treated Roobs to a walk through the woods and back along the River Glane. I've not done any serious photography for ages, so I decided to take a camera and see what I could make of the scenery in the last hour of light.

I set the shutter speed to around 1/4 to blur the water and used the image stabiliser and a bit of bracing against a rock or tree to try and keep the background sharp.

There was a young lad of about 12 spinning in that fast, shallow stretch shown in the top photo using a little Mepps spinner. I asked him if he knew that the truite season had closed and he said, Bless him, with not a flicker of guilt, that he was after perche mg:
