Weather conditions: Very hot, bright and sunny
Water conditions: very low, very clear, very weedy
Air temperature: bloody hot
Water Temperature: warm
Bait: halibut pellet
Method:loose feed 8mm halibuts and a hair rigged 14mm
Results:1 x chub, 5lb 01oz
Brief description of the session & remarks:
Bloody spooky, had to back lead 3 feet up from my lead so the fish didn't feel the line.
Used Krystonite, they couldn't see it, but they seemed to glide over the swim, feel the line and then move back under the weed.
Put the backlead on and they seemed much more at ease.
2 mins after casting in with the back lead, I had the chub.
Mission accomplished, pack up and round the chippy.

Bait: The Source paste
Method: feeder fished hemp and caster with paste on the hook, 6lb mainline with 5lb hitech hooklink and a size 12 Mustad hook.
Results: 2 x chub, 1st at 5-09 and the 2nd at 6-10 (a new PB)
Brief description of the session & remarks:
started with caster on the hook, both real and fake Enterprise, but kept getting whacked by the silver fish, managed to hook a few dace and roach, so decide to change to paste as I know they like the Source because I keep getting the chub hit my baits whilst barbelling.

First chub was a bit of a tentative bite, but the bigger one just hit it and went.

Well chuffed, until I got back to my car and some little retarded scum had put my windows through.

Thought I'd give an update on the condition of the river as it's a destination for many travelling anglers.

Lower beat 2 and beat 3 are very high and coloured, but about 1 foot below bank level.
With no more rain predicted this week, then it should hopefully be sock on for Friday/Saturday.

Very busy, eventually found a spot to fish with the fish in it. Most getting eels, odd chub also heard of a carp and a barbel. Fish was spawned out, should have been over 6lbs (24" long). Needs another three weeks to settle down.
