Bait:...Snipe & Purple, Back Pennel, March Brown and Greenwells Glory
Method:...Wet Fly
Results:...
One very small brownie
Brief description of the session & remarks:...I?ve not fished this river before so it was a recie trip as well as a fishing trip. 1st couple of hours upstream not a touch, crossed a large feeder stream after which the main river became much smaller. Only just made it back across the feeder steam, which was coming up very fast. Last couple of hours down river started to get a few plucks and picked up the small brownie on a Black Pennel right under rod tip while retrieving line. Lost quite a few flys due low trees and gusty wind. Nice river enjoyable session even though it did rain all the time, I?ll be back.

Bait:...Snipe & Purple, Back Pennell & Pheasant Tail Nymph, Teal & Silver, plus a few other spider patterns.
Method:...Wet Fly
Results:...2 brownies one about 6" and one a good 1lb
Brief description of the session & remarks:...Quite difficult at times casting into the wind. Tried a fly out of the blue, teal & silver, on a faster bit of the river and picked up a very good browine. Packed in earlier then intended when it got very cold out of the sun and changing flies became hard work.

Brief description of the session & remarks:...1st time out on the river since start of season, very pleasant afternoon plenty of tourist walking about. I'd loads of knocks and plucks with one or two just hanging on for a second or two but they were all very small fish. All the north country rivers could do with a wee bit of water.
