Brief description of the session and any remarks.. Didn't fancy a long drive as working all day so went fairly local , glad I did !Missed an early bite so increased hooklink from 12 to 18 inches. Worked a treat.

Brief description of the session and any remarks..Fished over pellets and stringer.Bite came 1 hour into session. This was followed by lots of little pulls and rod knocks. Tried different things but to no avail.May have been Eels as some caught by another angler maggot fishing...........

Results Barbel 4.08 6.00 (approx)...............
Brief description of the session and any remarks.Normally would not bothered Barbel fishing with conditions as they are but Piking has been poor of late locally. Have been baiting a new area whilst fishing elsewhere , decided to fish maggot as conditions appeared poor not a touch. Switched to paste with half an hour of daylight left and nobbled two Barbel within half an hour., must like the paste!...........

Brief description of the session and any remarks.Looked good and fished several swims.The roads were all gritted at weekend followed by heavy rain so possibly out of sorts.This solved funny bites problem though as I only got one half hearted.Will try Chubbing and stret pegging when weather improves as suggested by readers to see if a) funny bites are Chub and b)if float fishing provides better bite indication pull ...........
