Comments & remarks:...Gusty winds from s made float selection tricky but fish were on the feed evrywhere when i arrived.
Best session of year so far with me running out of bait at end.

Comments & remarks:...Fish were fizzing over my bait all the time but couldnt get any bites,tried hooklink`s down to 4lb and 18s hook with single castor but still no bites.

Comments & remarks:...To start with it was same story as yesterday with fish feeding but no bites,a switch to pellet and a 14s hook started to get bites but i couldnt hit them.Switched to pellet and 16s hook and got fish to the bank but pellet had to across the back of the shank not along it to hook fish,tried castor/maggot combo`s but fish wouldnt touch hooked bait but would feed on them(1st time ive failed to catch feeding fish on castor)
Wildlife put on a good show today,1st a buzzard caught and half ate a rabbit in field on opposite bank less than 100 yrd`s away from me then 30 min`s later a fox appeared and carried off the remain`s.

Comments & remarks:...Stuck with same bait/tatics as yesterday but in a new swim on other basin.Caught fish at a steady rate until 8.30 when all bites and fizzing stopped.
Lost a good grass carp at 7.00,had fish on for what felt like 10 mins and was reaching for net when it made a run to to some weed and shed hook.

Comments & remarks:...caught grassy on 2nd cast fish took bait on drop in big swirl and then took me for a walk down canal for 10 min`s.
Lost at least 5 tench to hook pull`s on size 16s but when i went up a hook size i couldnt get a bite so had to put up with it.
pair of bloody duck`s drove me mad diving on my bait.

Comments & remarks:...Had only caught 1 tench before the sun came out at 7am but fish were still showing so i stuck it out for another hour but no fish were caught.
was about to pack up but seen a big bank of cloud moving in,it took another hour to reach me but by 10am the condition`s were perfect overcast and warm.
Best fishing was at about 12 when my baited area was a mass of bubbles.
After a bad start it turned into best session so far.

Comments & remarks:...There were already 6 lads on the canal when I arrived, and I was surprised when I saw the canal, it looked a good month behind weed/reed growth wise. Hooked into a big fish which snapped me after a really good fight, didn't half churn up the canal bottom? I had quite a few good bites with the float sailing away but I lifted into nothing. I don't think the Tench have really got going yet.

Comments & remarks:...Canal looked good for an evening session. Tried one rod on the float but it was too breezy with too much surface crap dragging float under. Lost one tench coming to the net on the sweetcorn rod, big dash for freedom right under the rod tip. The thunderstorm was a bit exciting especially when I was playing the 5lb?er, not too happy about waving a carbon rod about in the middle of a thunderstorm???????

Comments & remarks:...Not a great deal of activity very few bubbles but one or two fish tail waving in the reeds which are now growing quite fast. Bumped three fish off the hook before banking two and I'd quite a few good pulls where I lifted into nothing. Very pleasant morning, however, the coots were larking about as usual and one cheeky little sod dived down and nicked the bread off my hook. My rod set off into the canal but fortunately the bird freed it's self.

Comments & remarks:...Quite a few lads on the canal tis morning, bumped into Alan Strickland. This was one of those sessions were everyone seemed to be catching but me!!! Alan on one side managed a couple of Tench and the lad on the other side banked 5.
Still the FA Cup in the afternoon was probably the best cup game I've ever seen, a credit to both Liverpool and Westham.

Comments & remarks:...Not fished the canal for a couple of years. I had a walk on Thursday evening and spotted a few fish topping on a stretch I don't fish very often so I thought I'd have a short Saturday morning session. Fished a couple of spots where I'd seen fishfeeding but they weren't having any of it. The canal was choked in places with surface weed. Sorry yes, I did have one bite; it was a swan that picked up my bread. It's probably worth another trip but this time with a rake, might give it a go one evening.

Comments & remarks:...Went back to last weeks basin and spent 1/2 hour raking swim. However, after a couple of hours the wind just filled the basin with floating weed. No sign of any tench activity.
