Been reading a few books articles etc on lure fishing and the general view seems to be that you braid is better suited to this type of fishing.

Again excuse my ignorance but will the knots i have been using to attach mono to my traces work with braid ?

If not whats the best way to attach braid to a trace/swivel etc ?

I use a 6 turn Grinner knot on my braid. I will use superglue on the knot for attaching lure traces as they take some punishment when lobbing out jerkbaits etc.

You need different knots to keep its strength.

Grinner or uni-knots are the best, also pass it twice through the swivel, ring or whatever to give it extra strength.

Get your braid from a sea fishing mag - half the price.

Fireline 30lb for drifter fishing, 20lb for most live & deadbaiting; 30lb Whiplash for trotting/legering.

I use braid from Andico for lure angling, in 30 and 60 pound test. For general piking I use 30 pound Fireline, and for drifting I use 20 pound fireling in yellow.

Power Pro is absolutely stunning braid.
Ask Gary Knowles about its abrasion resistence on the St. Lawrence this year.

Yet a lot of people claim it has zero abrasion resistance.
