I have a Shimmy Curado, the newer model, and am really pleased with it. I briefly had the previous model, the G for Green and whilst it was OK the newer one is much better. However I'm lead to believe that the Daiwa Tatula edges it for light lure casting and I'm looking to get another baitcaster for light lure fishing with a 5 - 15 gram rod.

Has anyone got any experience of this model?

I'll answer my own question;

I now got a Daiwa Tatula and have given it a good work out against the Shimano Curado l model I've had for a few months. Is it better? No. Not in any way, shape or form. Does it cast lighter lures further than the Shimano? Nope. Hardly anything in it. But the Curado has the edge, and is a lot smoother to cast with and less chance of over runs. The new braking system on the latest Curado is light years ahead of the magnetic braking of the Daiwa.
