As per last year I will start the ball rolling with a perch that must be beaten.
2lb 8ozs roach livebait. Part of a 4 catch.

No doubt it will be beaten as you say, but a fine specimen all the same. I'm still at the half-pound stage myself.

I'm entering this for a few reasons, to get the challenge back on the front page, I think this currently puts me on the leaderboard which shouldn't last long, can we have a sub category for lure caught perch please?:)

2lb 2ozs, caught on a relax 2" plastic lure from the Great Stour at Grove Ferry.

Good stuff John , I had a good day last weekend on the Severn 8 perch between 1 lb 12 oz and 2 lb 10 oz with 5 fish over 2 lb . I had a couple on livebait but most on worms . I've never tried dead bait . Could you tell me what sort of rig you use please. It's early in the season for perch but the fishing on the Severn seems to be very good so far.

I believe Lymm AC stretches of the Severn are good for some decent perch

Mark , I've fished them and had a few , to be honest they can be caught on most of the middle Severn not to many people chasing them.
