I've been looking for a dropshotting rod for my local canal & I've found the Wychwood Agitator 6ft 3in, 2 > 14g.

Are these any good, & would it be ok to pair it with my Daiwa TDM2508 reel?

I'm also looking for other recommendations for dropshot rods around the £60 budget, but will pay more if needs be.

In my limited experience I have found a slighter longer rod more useful, it allows you to reach over vegetation, structures etc with greater ease and also allows you to stand back on a bank a foot or two so as not to spook a wary fish. A few on the market, I have the Drennan 7ft 6”, with hindsight I should have got the 8ft 6”.

I’d say your reel is fine. Make sure you use braid, don’t go too light, approx 20lb minimum, ( greater chance of retrieving snagged lures).

I have an Agitator lure rod albeit a different model. A 9ft 100 g rod that is really good and great value.

Also agree with the post regarding short rods. 7ft may be ok when boat fishing but they can be incredibly frustrating when bank fishing.
