Yes it's that time of year when our attention turns to big predatory fish. BPC this year will be the 8th annual challenge in the series.
Please report on this thread any big perch caught WITHIN the TIMESCALE BELOW. Please also try to take a photo of your catch even if you're unable to post pics, as I or another can help with that. A description of your method and the type of water where your perch was caught would also add interest.
Last year's winner was Bob Hornegold with a 4lb:11oz lunker from the river Lea navigation.
The record for this challenge was 4:11:8 caught by Chubberbob a few years ago.
The U.K. record is 6lb:5oz!

RULES. Challenge starts tonight 5th sept at 12 midnight.

UK Waters only.

Any legal method. Bait, lure, rod, pole or whip.

To claim, you must have made at least 10 previous posts (any subject) on this forum.

Challenge ends midnight March 14th.

Finally-Please keep this thread chat free as it makes my job much easier if I don't have to wade through pages of chat trying to put together the final table.
If you want to chat about perch, or anything else, please start your own new thread.....Thanks and good luck....

Good Luck to all for the 2018/19 challenge, I would like to think I could better my 2017/18 best Perch, but it's unlikely, but I keep trying !!

C'mon fellas we're a month in and it's a bit quiet so far, where are all the big Perch?

I'll stick me neck out and set the bar at a very modest 1-14 just to kick things off...

Steve, I am struggling to catch any perch worth a mention this year. A couple of my usual haunts are desperately short of water and just not worth it.

I’ve got some green and some black paint, all I need now is a 5lb Bass. :)

Gonna slip into second place with this 2lb 5oz cracker. I know it wont last but I'll enjoy the limelight until it gets beaten. Taken on the dropshot using a 1" pink ebay cheapo tiddler fry.20181018_174409.jpg

Thanks , but these commercial fishery perch seem to lack the beautiful colouring of river fish. However they do grow big so I’m not complaining.

He looks like an old boy, probably will die soon. Seen a few big uns lose their color like that before croaking it.

Took a while but the ball is now rolling.

Scores so far...

Tone 1. 3:12

Artist Rob. 2:6

Naxian. 2:5

S63. 2:4

Binka. 1:14

Before this thread descends into a free for all can I please repeat my request to keep it chat free.
I don't want a repeat of last year where I had comments like " Oi! Where's my 3 pounder!" when I compile the results.
Thank you.
