Different types of fishing and even different species can require different types and weights of indicator. One size does not fit all. The best stabs at multi-purpose indicators I've encountered have been the Fox Swingers and a couple of Solar multi-function sets.

How about just simple bobbins which you can add or take weight off ?

They will cover most (all?) situations you come across. The thing I dont like about drop offs is they "drop off" leaving you no indication at all.

I asked a similar question recently but could not decide what to get so just continuing with a drop off indicator with front bite alarm.
It works well so I suppose I wont be changing up to drop off alarms.

Make your own drop-offs using toolclips which go nicely on to the back rest, a piece of cord and then for the sight bob, a poly ball or a practice foam golf ball for a bit more weight and finally a trimmed down delkim smart clip for line retension, or even a couple of hat pins squeezed together. You'll be so happy when you catch , using something you made yourself. Oh, and dont forget a front alarm is a good addition
