Braid Twist !!

If it's a fixed spool your using, I'd have a look at the line roller to make sure it's rotating freely, especially under load.
If that's ok, it might be your spooling technique.

Using a quite new Okuma Ceymar, the roller appears to be very free running. Casting no more than 12g, that's lure and jighead combined . Been trying to fish a deep res lately on the dropshot and I have a feeling the little paddletails I use may be spinning up on the retrieve. Spooling technique is certainly dubious after best part of a nice jammy cab sav/shiraz mix !
